His work caught our attention. Thomas Scerri is a class on his own. The pictures presented here shows this artist’s capability to create art and design with passion.

Scerri was born to a ceramist; making him exposed to art since a very young age. He studied Mechanical Engineering at MCAST from where he obtained a Higher National Diploma. Then he returned to art and design. In fact he obtained a Diploma in Design Foundation Studies in 2014, a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Arts in 2017 and a Master of Arts in Digital Arts in 2019 at University of Malta.
Thomas experimented with different materials and now, he is focusing more on scultpure and lens-based media. His first exhibition was entitled ‘Deceit’ which took place at VGB Art in Valletta in September 2016. It consisted of a series of nude paintings.

“I am always interested in looking beyond, visualising the invisible and uncovering the hidden. Abstract concepts are brought into the physical world, taking organic shapes – creating contrast between the manmade and the natural. I let the material dictate the form, letting the unconscious drive the work.” – Thomas Scerri.
From wirtmalta.mt, we would like to congratulate Thomas whilst wishing him the best for his bright future. You make us proud.
