Artists from around the world are being invited to apply for Influss, a paid international residency programme based in Malta that places creative exploration at its core. Rooted in the principles of inquiry, immersion, and experimentation, this residency offers practitioners a unique opportunity to engage deeply with their artistic practice while responding to Malta’s rich and layered cultural landscape.
Designed as a space for reflection and development, Influss encourages artists to step beyond routine production and instead focus on process—questioning, exploring, and interacting with new contexts. Participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in the local environment, drawing inspiration from Malta’s heritage, communities, and contemporary cultural dynamics.
The residency is spearheaded by the Culture Directorate of Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Society of Arts and the Valletta Cultural Agency, through the Valletta Design Cluster. This partnership brings together key cultural institutions, ensuring a supportive and dynamic environment for participating artists.
Through this initiative, artists are invited not only to create but to engage in dialogue—with place, people, and practice—making Influss an enriching platform for experimentation and cross-cultural exchange.
